A to Z: Letter O

OCTOPUSSY
Based on James Bond by Ian Fleming. Screenplay was written by George MacDonald Fraser, Michael G. Wilson, and Richard Maibaum.
WIKI: The film's title is taken from a short story in Ian Fleming's 1966 short story collection Octopussy and the Living Daylights, although the film's plot is original. It does, however, include a portion inspired by the Fleming short story "The Property of a Lady" (included in 1967 and later editions of Octopussy and The Living Daylights), while the events of the short story "Octopussy" form a part of the title character's background and are recounted by her.
Bond is assigned the task of following a general who is stealing jewels and relics from the Russian government. This leads him to a wealthy Afghan prince, Kamal Khan, and his associate, Octopussy. Bond uncovers a plot to force disarmament in Europe with the use of a nuclear weapon.
I've seen just about every James Bond Movie.

Trivia: Who played the James Bond Role after Roger Moore? Bonus: Who recently played James Bond?

Yesterdays Trivia Answer: Bergman & Grant starred in 2 movies. Notorious and Indiscreet.

Meet Fellow Author Jori Mierek who recently had a short story published in Nightmare Illustrated:

“What Spring Brings,” the story of Jo and her monster, is a short story by Jordan Elizabeth Mierek.  You can find it, fully illustrated by artist Emily Holt, in issue 5 of Nightmare Illustrated, a magazine dedicated to horror stories.

  1. I've never sat through one of the older James Bond movies. Sorry to shock you, Cathy.

  2. Congratulations, Jori!
Timothy Dalton was Bond afterwards. Not a good one, either. Daniel Craig plays him now.
And I've seen all the movies as well.

  3. I like Daniel Craig as Bond. I think it must be difficult to assume a character that has been extremely beloved when played by other actors. It is a lot to live up to... or maybe the potential for a long, hard fall is possible.

  5. I've seen every Bond movies ever made, twice at least, except for Skyfall, which I loved, but only saw it once. I need to fix that. I grew up with Roger Moore as Bond so he is one of my favorites but Daniel Craig is fabulous and such a hottie :) Timothy Dalton was after Moore and I didn't like him much, Pierce Bronsan was next and he was pretty good, but Craig is better.

    1. I really liked Bronsan, but Craig is great, but getting older too...

  6. Missed the Bergman/Grant question by one. The only James Bond that impressed me enough to remember him is Connery. He was Bond. So I guess I'm not a good guesser. :-(

  7. Timothy Dalton and Daniel Craig...

Alex always beats me to your blog, Cathrina. LOL.

I never heard of Grant's and Bergman's other movie, Indiscreet.

  8. I totally love horror, or I used to. I still read it periodically, especially when it has a great premise.

Not going to lie: I'm not a huge Bond fan. *shrugs*

  10. Ummm....I know I've seen some of the older Bond movies, but I was very young and hardly remember them. The ones from the last 15 or so years I'm more familiar with, I like them enough, no hardcore love though.

    Congrats to Jori!
