When it comes to Vampires, there is a wide spectrum of characters.

  1. I've been meaning to go back and check out the new Dracula series...it looks pretty good.

Is the answer to the trivia question "Nosferatu"? I remember that version being very rat-like and pretty scary, when I was a kid.

  2. I am not watching the TV show Dracula, though I might have started had I known that Jonathan Rhys Myers played him. That guy is yummy. There are not that many actors who "crank up my engine," so to speak... but he is one of them. I bet I end up owning that dang series on DVD one day.

I did start watching the series, but kept forgetting when it was on.

  5. I haven't been interested in the recent vampire surge. But I've always wanted to read Bram's Dracula. It had a lot of subtext about the changes occurring in that time period.

  7. Mark and others beat me too it, but yes Nosferatu. I remember they made that movie not to long ago that was an actual Vampire playing the part of Nosferatu. I had been recording Dracula on my DVR, but because if the new baby I ended up missing episodes. I will get the season for sure.

  9. I would have to guess Nosferatu for the first Vampyre. I was actually disappointed when I first saw the film, since it didn't seem as creepy as I'd been led to believe, even if Max Schreck is the ultimate Vampyre.

  11. We've come a long way to making Dracula more appealing, haven't we?

  12. Don't know the first Dracula. I like Jonathan Rhys Myers but I couldn't get into the new show.

  13. I like the darker versions. I think Salem's Lot was my first vampire book I read. As for movies, I'm a big fan of Lost Boys. I have read the original and love it--haven't seen a movie based of the actual book that did it justice.

  14. Just had to stop by when I saw your D. I LOVE Bram Stoker's novel. Read it recently for first time and couldn't believed I'd missed it all these years. Modern versions of vampires aside (I'm a Twilight fan), Stoker's version is where it all started.

  15. How come I can't get any of your questions? Give us an easy one like: Who wrote Wickedly They Come? My favorite Dracula is the cereal. Yummy.

  16. When the part of Dracula is played by a handsome guy then it seems worse when he turns out to be a blood-sucker, although this is usually the case in real life! Not that I've known many vampires!
The older versions of Dracula were the best because you never expected too much from the men who acted the part.

  17. I like mean, blood-thirsty vampires. The kind that make you afraid to step outside at night and love garlic roasted over an open fire.

Bela Lugosi was THE Dracula :)
