A to Z: Letter E

Eclipse
the novel by Stephanie Meyers was published in 2007 and adapted to film in 2011.

What better way to follow D for Dracula than E for Eclipse. And a whole lot of sparkly Vamps!  Eclipse is the 3rd installment to the series and is still high on people's reading lists.

Do we all dream of our novels being made into a movie. And who will portray our characters?

  2. Breaking Dawn.

I think that Stephanie Meyer is inspiring. I know that she gets a bad rap from many people, but she wasn't shooting for literary genius. She just wanted to write a story and she did. And teens and adults all over loved it and it was made into movies. But, her books made some teens who NEVER read anything want to start reading. If anything I wrote ever had that sort of impact, I would be very proud.

  5. Breaking Dawn, of course! I read those books so. Freaking. Fast. I could not put them down :)

  6. I've never read Eclipse or any other book in the Twilight series. Nor have I watched a single movie. I have to agree with Alex, that they just aren't for me.

  7. I would really like to have one of my books made into a movie.

  9. The books are gripping and addictive in their way. I'll admit that even though they fall in the category of books I'm slightly ashamed that I enjoyed. :)

  10. My daughter LOVED reading these, I haven't read any myself but as she talked about them so much, I feel I know all the characters personally!

  11. The cover is simple but brilliant. Once again, I've never read it.

  12. I've never read these or seen the movies, but it'd be really cool if one of my books were turned into a movie!

  13. I'm actually rather frustrated with the series because Stephanie Meyers didn't hold to her guns and tell her agent "no" when she wanted her to entirely rewrite book 2. I didn't like the angle the storyline veered after that.

  14. I always make dream casts for my characters- it's fun trolling the web for actors/actresses who would make a good fit. And sort of a time waster too. ;)

  15. I read Twilight and was taken with the idea of the story. I tried to read the second book, but it didn't hold my interest, so I didn't finish. I'm still wondering why because I know it was a success.

  16. I had the same experience as Lee. Read Twilight and devoured it in little more than a day but then couldn't get into the second book.
I love casting my characters in my head, so fun. :)

  18. Gaaaaah… you're doing the A-Z Challenge!!! You're amazing. Phew. Something I haven't been brave enough to try yet. :) I loved Eclipse. It's the best book out of the series for sure. :)

  19. I've once written a character with Naomi Watts in mind, so I hope she'll be portraying her in the adaptation ;-)

  20. I agree, who doesn't ever imagine their work being made into a movie?! It's such a fun thing to daydream about!

  21. Backing up a day to comment, because I'm a Twilight fan (all of it). Kind of dropped off the face of the earth reading this series. Got hit with some kind of vampire ether! Still don't know what happened. Own the movies too :) 4th one is Breaking dawn.

  22. I loved reading the Twilight series, the movies not so much, but they did get better as they progressed. I think having books being made into a movie is so awesome. As a reader I get excited to see the book come alive, I couldn't imagine what it would be for the author herself. Must be mind boggling.
