We had such a difficult decision to make. All the books are awesome!!! We thank each and every author that participated!!!
We hope to have another Event soon. And we look forward to reading & reviewing your wonderful books.

The Winner of the Book Choice Competition is:

Romance Writer in Training…
Joanie wants to get her romances published but can't seem to get things right with her writing. She buys an antique bureau which the shopkeeper says has magic working through it. While using her new bureau, she begins to talk to the hero in her book, asking his advice on writing, all the while thinking it's her own imagination. She promises he can live in her home, eat at her table and sleep in her bed, if he helps her with her writing. She doesn't think he will actually knock on her door and insist she keep her promise.
He’s made a wish…
Theo has also bought a magic chest of drawers that brings him into Joanie's life. He wants to settle down with one woman, tired of shallow relationships, and Joanie seems like the perfect candidate if it weren’t for her insistence on getting rid of him.

Against her will…
The magic keeps on forcing them to live together and Joanie’s not happy. This is her first year alone and she’s been craving time to herself after looking after her younger siblings and an ailing aunt. Theo’s presence in her home, although unwanted, stirs up needs she’s suppressed for years. When they start to discover things about the magic and why it’s bringing them together, will Joanie recognize another type of magic at work? Will she succumb to the charm of Theo or will her need for breathing space pull them apart?

Cathrina's Review:

If you've read the author's wonderful blurb, then you know the story.

When I began to read My Real Life Hero, I had to smile because as a writer, I can understand the frustration of our main character, Joanie. Trying to write an endearing romance with a handsome hero figure turns into a wish totally out of proportion. Especially when she sits down  at her new bureau, which the shopkeeper did warn her about the desks magic, and gives her more than she bargained for.
When the attractive Theo arrives on the scene and insists that the couple is married and produces a marriage license, as the reader I was like huh?
But as I continued to read this unique novel I was taken by its magic
You will discover the why and the how the desk has special  magic which explains a lot. And then it's up to Joanie and Theo to make the magic happen.
My Real Life Hero is filled with steamy scenes that made my face flush and my breath hitch somewhat. You won't be disappointed.

  1. I agree about the steamy scenes. I should say STEAMY! In a way this book reminds me of the the 1998 movie The Love Letter with Campbell Scott and Jennifer Jason Leigh. Loved that movie.

  2. Great review, Cathy. When she started talking about getting a deep POV, I was waiting for more education on the topic. Yes, this book was hot.
It's based on two fairy tales, but I was so wrapped up in the book that I didn't realize which ones.

  3. Sounds great! I can relate to the aspiring romance novel who can't seem to get published and has magic happen. I spent years trying to get published and could have used some magic!
