#AtoZ - Letter D

Cheat Day
I really thought the song and movie were, Don't Eat the Daisies, but I'm wrong. Since research ended with zilch, I'm cheating.
Please Don't Eat the Daisies
sung by Doris Day
(lots of D's in there)
The song is part of the movie's soundtrack.

The Movie released in 1960

Drama critic Larry McKay, his wife Kay, and their four sons move from their crowded Manhattan apartment to an old house in the country. While housewife Kay settles into suburban life, Larry continues to enjoy the theater and party scene of New York. Kay soon begins to question Larry's fidelity when he mentions a flirtatious encounter with Broadway star Deborah Vaughn.

I think it's a cute movie. Has anyone seen it?

  1. I've never heard of this one - she was a prolific actress, wasn't she?

  3. No, I've not seen it.
And sometimes we have to cheat a little...

  4. Doris Day was always so sweet. I doubt she'd be a hit today, but she was quite a hit in her time. She runs a hotel where I live and it's pet friendly. Again, very sweet.

  6. My mom loves this movie and all like it. I used to watch things like this with her when I was a kid.

  7. Yes, I saw this, as a very tiny child and Doris day looked so much like my favorite aunt. I cried because I thought Aunt Annette had run away the man in the movie! Poor Uncle George!! My parents explained as best they could, but she kept showing up in other movies. Ha!

  10. It's not a big cheat, since Doris Day gives you the extra double D ;) I love her album cover photo. As I get older, it seems like the pictures of celebrities I grew up with get younger!

  11. I haven't seen it myself but it sparks a memory. Many years ago, me walking into the living room on a Sunday afternoon to find my parents watching said movie.
    Me: What are you watching?
My Mom: Please don't eat the Daisies
    Me: What?!?

The momory made me smile, even if the movie didn't. Thanks!
