So We Begin! A to Z Challenge: Letter A

Here We Go! The First Day of the A to Z Challenge! This is my second time posting with the A to Z Challenge, thanks to The Genius Idea of Arlee Bird! Linky List is Here.

Last year I posted each day by the seat of my pants. And this year I actually gave it some thought and started ahead of time. *YAY* Since I love movies and books, my posts will be centered around books adapted to film and to amazing screenwriters, and play-writers.

ANGELS & DEMONS by Dan Brown
A Mystery/Thriller published in 2000.
Angels & Demons was adapted to film in 2009 and directed by the awesome and talented Ron Howard. I've read the book and seen the movie, both are spectacular! Angels & Demons was brought to film after The DaVinci Code, however, the DaVinci Code was published in 2003 after Angels & Demons.

From You Tube: A conversation with the stars about the movie and The Illuminati. Very Interesting.

Trivia: What Movie Star portrayed the Camerlengo, the one who gains temporary control of the Vatican?

Check out the answer tomorrow.

  1. Hmm.... Good choice. I really loved the movie. Not so sure about the book, though. It's all about likes and dislikes, right? Looking forward to the rest of your posts!

  6. I saw the movie, liked Tom Hanks but felt it had so many plot holes I just couldn't enjoy it.

  7. I've never read a book by Dan Brown (don't hate me), but I did see the movie and it was wonderful. Disturbing, though.

  8. I always hate to start a good thriller because then I do nothing else but read. This one was hard because of the graphic scenes, but it kept my heart pumping. Loved the movie.

  9. Movie was great, but I'm actually one of those who liked the book better. I guess I just love a good read over a good movie!

  10. I like to read the book first. Have to add that one to my library list.... thanks!

  13. I read DaVinci Code but for some reason never read this book or saw the movie. I need to remedy that. Great choice for a theme!

  15. It's hard for me to read a book after seeing the movie - I like to do it the other way around, but lately I've been concentrating on books by the indie author. Supporting the new authors so much more fun!

    1. Julie, Angels & Demons is better than DaVinci Code, but that's my opinion.

      Sharon, it's pretty good.

      Yolanda, I agree.

  16. FUN theme! I believe the answer to the trivia question is Ewan MacGregor. I did see this movie, but have not read the book, though my husband did and enjoyed it. :)

  17. I believe I saw that one. I know everyone got into this series, but I really didn't. *shrugs* Not my brand of cheese, I suppose. I'm too busy living in the fantasy world with my pet zombie, trapped slaves, er, guest scientists, and rainbow-eating unicorn. (Sparkles is new around here. Ooh, I better keep her far away from the prison, I mean, basement.)

  18. I never could quite get into Dan Brown's books but what a great idea for the challenge. Can't wait to read the rest of the alphabet!

  19. I read this book so fast - I thin I finished it in one or two days, because I couldn't bear to put it down! This is going to be a fun theme :)

Stephanie, Brown's books aren't for everybody.

      Liz, I agree.

  22. This is great! I love books and films too. Although I watch more Bollywood than Hollywood. Have read Dan Brown's Angels & Demons - twice I think. Loved it. I felt the movie could not match the book although it was very good

  23. I haven't actually watched that movie yet.... I guess I just didn't get on the craze bandwagon when it happened, and forgot to check it out afterwards. I should rectify that. :)

  24. I've read the book, but not seen the film.

I'm the only person I know who has read Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit, but not seen any of the films.

I do love films, don't get me wrong. But I always worry that some will spoil the images their books words have conjured in my imagination.

  26. I liked the book better than the movie, and liked A&D better than D-Code. Dan Brown has since not written anything worth reading, sad to say....
