The Letter F

                              Freaking Freckles

Freckles are a contradiction:
So adorable and precious when you're a sweet little child. And grow into tawny smudges with women utilizing every ointment available to banish the darn things. Hah!

With that I supply a one liner from my new manuscript:

"You'd look so much better with make-up. I'll zap those ugly freckles." She flashed a set of pearly white teeth with a guarantee---
to transform me into a glam queen.

  1. Ah, freckles. I've always had some, but they're light. I've got a friend who is covered in freckles, though. She hates them.

    1. Freckles, when placed strategically are cute. But that's not usually the case. Mine had lost their shine.

  4. I don't know--there's something about freckles that says "fun." I expect people with freckles to smile a lot and be generally fun people. Odd, I know. Perhaps it's because I have a cousin with freckles, and she tends to be like that. :)

  6. I guess I never looked at freckles as something not desirable before. My daughter inherited them from my husband. I always thought they were cute.

  7. I hate my freckles. I had them as a kid and was constantly teased. As an adult when I could use make-up, they faded a bit on my face and took over my arms and legs. It's like they're sentient and know just how to tick me off.

    1. Most people do like freckles. I think it's one of those things, if your hair is straight you like curly hair and if it's curly you like straight. I grew up with freckles and always wanted a clear complexion. But now I hear most everyone likes freckles, I never knew.

  11. Dont' tell anyone. I tried the Jan Brady trick when I was a kid. However, it doesn't work. Nope. Rubbing lemon juice on your freckles does NOT make them go away. Believe me, I tried. Stupid Brady Bunch.
