Keep on Plugging

Every writer who's hesitant of sharing their profession should take a gander at Mona Karel's blog: http://mona-karel.com/blog/ it's quite insightful.

I've been stationed at the computer for years attempting to spin an enthralling tale, and through it all, when people asked me, "What do you do?" I never said, "I'm a writer."

The hardest part of being an accomplished writer, for me, was the querying process. Rejection letters started piling up, and each one brought on a state of depression. It's to be expected. Then, I'd brush some of the misery off and try again.

Once, I was ready to throw in the towel, give up on my novel. Then Editor's would correspond with a rejection, and appease me by writing how much they liked my story, offering some advice. I felt I was getting close. And a friend consoled me by saying, "Do you like to write?" My response, "Yes." She replied, "Then have fun."

The saying is true, it only takes one person to say 'Yes' to your novel. And now I can say with confidence, I'm a writer, and soon a published author.

I'm ecstatic and thrilled to announce my second novel, TALLAS, will be published and released by Black Opal Books!

So in the end, my advice for writers is to grow thick skin, and keep on plugging!
