What Am I Doing??

I sit here procrastinating, a terrible quality of mine. My WIP (work in progress) for the sequel to Wickedly They Come is roughly three quarters of the way complete. However, my first edits for my debut have yet to arrive on the scene, and I'm extremely daunted with the prospect of reading and working over my mistakes. And then, I have this writers blog, and, not yet officially an author - I wonder - what am I doing? Whoever thought I could or would become an author? No one.

I need to come up with a promotion plan for the novel, and again, I don't know what I'm doing? Then I think about the imminent book reviews! OMG! What if my book is in the hate or subjective category? See how my mind flips - over and over it goes!

As I sit here playing around with this new blog, I'd like you to enjoy some of my fellow author's reviews and whatnots. Their links are below:

Keep on Plugging

Every writer who's hesitant of sharing their profession should take a gander at Mona Karel's blog: http://mona-karel.com/blog/ it's quite insightful.

I've been stationed at the computer for years attempting to spin an enthralling tale, and through it all, when people asked me, "What do you do?" I never said, "I'm a writer."

The hardest part of being an accomplished writer, for me, was the querying process. Rejection letters started piling up, and each one brought on a state of depression. It's to be expected. Then, I'd brush some of the misery off and try again.

Once, I was ready to throw in the towel, give up on my novel. Then Editor's would correspond with a rejection, and appease me by writing how much they liked my story, offering some advice. I felt I was getting close. And a friend consoled me by saying, "Do you like to write?" My response, "Yes." She replied, "Then have fun."

The saying is true, it only takes one person to say 'Yes' to your novel. And now I can say with confidence, I'm a writer, and soon a published author.

I'm ecstatic and thrilled to announce my second novel, TALLAS, will be published and released by Black Opal Books!

So in the end, my advice for writers is to grow thick skin, and keep on plugging!

It's all about ME!

If you've visited my website, you know I was born, raised, and live in Western New York. I can drive thirty minutes south to arrive at one of the most picturesque parks in New York.  I can also drive twenty minutes north and arrive in the city, where theater and art comes alive, not to mention the serene view of Lake Erie as one strolls alone the waterfront. I have the best of both worlds. Have I mentioned the scenic four seasons? My favorite is autumn. Vibrant startling hues to fill the senses.

Okay, back to me:

In high school, I hung with a group of popular girls or 'hard chicks' which classmates tended to call them. However, I never actually felt popular, I was the one standing in the back. Only until recently, an old classmate stated, "You had it made. You were one of the popular kids." I never, never felt that way, I wish I'd known. Oh, well. By my junior year, I was done with school and graduated a year early. College wasn't mentioned in our household, so needless to say, by age 17, I was working at a local bank.

When I turned eighteen, I went wild; the party life, and dancing till dawn. Loads of fun. Then I met the man of my dreams, and the rest is history...Five children later, we're still going strong.

I forgot to mention my exploits as a young girl, composing plays and getting lost in writing magical stories. Well into adulthood, I'd scripted various short stories, and submitted them to magazines. Books have been, and always will be, a part of me and my family. I love reading different genres, I love the feel of books, I love the smell of books, and the library is my toy store.

Now...I've written a young adult crossover to adult novel titled, Wickedly They Come.
Black Opal Books will publish and release my book in 2013!! I still can't believe it! Dream big and reach for the stars!

Perchance To Dream

Hello, I'm Cathrina Constantine.

And I've flipped my world upside down by becoming a writer and soon a published author. My debut novel, Wickedly They Come, will be released by Black Opal Books in 2013.

For me, this didn't come easy. As a matter of fact, my story began years ago, and has endured considerable transformations.

When I sat down at my son's desk with pen and paper and started scribbling a story, my family laughed, wondering what I was doing. I am a wife, a mother, and my life revolves around my family and friends.

It took a while, and through light-hearted heckling and determination, I've reached for the stars and I'm holding on to a dream!
