Inhale the tantilizing perfume of brewing Colombian coffee. At six a.m. even before my eyes slit, I'm adsorbed with the fragrance. Reflexively, I smile. My waking thought is yummm...What better way to begin the day. (A massage might be nice, too)
With my eyes at half-mast, I float (clunk) down the stairs to where the perfectly timed coffeemaker has finished brewing. I pour a steamy cup and with both hands hover the mug beneath my nose. Ah-h...
By the time I inhale and drink that fresh cup of coffee, my adrenaline starts pumping. I'm alive. Then I look in the mirror---More caffeine needed--- Stat.
I'm a coffee addict. And an addict needs their fix. (Have you ever seen an addict without their fix?) Needless to say, I only require two to three hits, I mean, cups in the morning and I'm set for the day.
What I love about freshly brewed coffee is not only the roasted savory flavor, but that morning jolt I need to get this body in motion.

Stopping by to say hello! It's been fun visiting all those participating in the Coffee Hop to see what they like about coffee.
ReplyDeleteYour cover was amazing!
ReplyDeleteNever acquired a taste for coffee. That's probably a good thing.
I was a tea person forever. Somehow I got hooked on coffee. Thank you Alex and Susanne for dropping by!
DeleteA cup of coffee is the first thing I grab in the morning.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your cover release! Celebrating both hops right along with you - TGIF!
ReplyDeleteDiane and MJ thanks for commenting. Coffee gets the eyes open.
DeleteI like the taste, but it varies with what brand and what flavor you buy. I used to go into one of our coffee vendors here - Murchie's and just inhale while I waited to buy my fresh ground coffee. I was in coffee heaven when our younger daughter worked at Starbucks for a while and brought me home a bag every now and then.
ReplyDeleteI love Starbucks white chocolate mocha. I buy it whenever I feel the need. Which is more than I should
DeleteGood morning, Cathrina! What a FUN and Imaginative post! LOVE the COFFE OWL!!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for taking part in my HOP!!!! I can tell you are a TRUE COFFEE LOVER... For ALL the RIGHT REASONS!
Congrats on your reveal! Let me know if you like a post on your reveal!
Thank You Michael for this fun hop!! And I'd love a post on your blog when my book is released, that'd be awesome!!
DeleteLoved your coffee images! And congrats again on that book.
ReplyDeleteCoffee is brain fuel. The Owl is awesome.
ReplyDeleteLee and David, Thank You!!
DeleteIsn't that coffee jolt wonderful in the morning. Congrats on the book.
ReplyDeleteYes, it is. Thanks Susan.
DeleteThat coffee bean owl pic is adorable!
ReplyDeleteAnd you had a cover reveal? Will have to seek that out!
Thanks Heather.
DeleteCongratulations on the novel, and it looks like you and I enjoy the same thing about coffee. If only our bodies would make caffeine from sunlight the way they make vitamin A. Or is that vitamin D? Maybe it's riboflavin. Although to be honest the only thing my body seems to make spontaneously anymore is ... never mind.
ReplyDeleteHahaa...Not much sun where I live. Have to take vit.D. Thanks Briane.
DeleteCoffee! Coffee! Coffee! I love coffee O_O
ReplyDeleteGreat pics, my favorite is the owl…awwww, coffee beans can be so adorable!
And yes, woohoo on the cover reveal. Fantastic cover ;)
For me, coffee is pure pleasure. I'm not sure it's the caffeine, since I only drink one (well, big) cup a day, but it's the taste, combined with the break. I don't drink it at breakfast, mostly afterwords, at work or at my computer. It keeps me company, and it keeps me warm.
ReplyDeleteLiza, I do the same. I pour my cup and sit at the computer, but first thing in the morning.
DeleteHehe, cute story. Love the pic. :)
ReplyDeleteNicki, Thank You!
DeleteThose coffee timers are pretty amazing. A nice way to wake up. I drink coffee on my first break at work and it really helps me get through the day. Good luck with your novels!
ReplyDeleteA huge coffee fan. It has to be ground and brewed right in the correct amount...or else I'm grumpy! Good luck with the novel!
ReplyDeleteShell and Sharon, thank you. Have a good weekend.
DeleteYou made me want to brew a fresh pot! What wonderful imagery :)
ReplyDeleteI wish I liked coffee, but I just never took to it. Have a good weekend! :)
ReplyDeleteElizabeth and Lara, thanks for dropping by to smell the coffee.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a fan of drinking coffee because of the negative effects on my system, but I love the smell of it.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter cannot drink coffee at all. Makes her system go wacky!
DeleteWe love coffee in our house. If we run out of it, we make an emergency trip to the store! It perks us up in the morning. We sometimes grind our own, which makes it taste really good, I think.
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend.
I saw your cover on Alex's and I LOVE it!! I enjoyed your take on morning coffee. Thanks for stopping by my blog. I'm so sorry about the agent passing-on-the-ms thing. Serious bummer. But at least you have Tallas coming out to keep your spirits up! Wishing you much success!
ReplyDeleteDeanie and Lexa thanks for stopping by. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteYAY Cover Reveal
ReplyDeleteConfession time - I'm originally a tea lover. I only drank one cup of coffee a day, in the morning.
ReplyDeleteBut somewhere along the way, things changed, and I became a coffee junkie. Now I'm trying to cut down on the coffee drinking.
And after all the hype surrounding Colombian coffee, I'm eager to taste it.
And congratulations on the cover reveal! It's so exciting!
I like the milk in lattes :-)
ReplyDeleteVikki and Vanessa and Michelle, thank you. I like milk in lattes too.
DeleteWe are soul sisters on this coffee thing. Definitely. Great post!
ReplyDeleteI don't actually drink coffee, but I love the smell.
