Once again, it's that time of the week to Celebrate the Small Things. And I' m so happy that Vikki at Scribblings of an Aspiring Author started this blog hop.
I wrote recently about visiting my son in Lancaster, PA, however, this past Saturday my son ventured home for the first time in 6 months! I gathered the entire family: gramma's, aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends for a monster cookout. We cooled off in the pool, played games and got wet with a water balloon toss!
Nothing gives me more joy then spending quality time with my family!!
With that said, what are you celebrating this week?
Mine is home from college for the summer. Not having them under roof all the time sure gives me an appreciation for the rowdy crowd!
ReplyDeleteTotally understand. Yet, I miss the whole gang together, makes the house come alive.
DeleteFamily is a joy seldom appreciated! And if you did not indulge while in Lancaster County, you can celebrate NOT eating one of the shoo-fly pies they inflict upon unsuspecting tourists! I'll be posting a *real* recipe I got from a lovely lady, the mother of a friend, who was a real 'Pennsylvania Dutch' person and a fabulous cook.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend!

That's be great. I'll have to check out the recipe, Diana. You have a good weekend too.
DeleteLive in Lancaster, and my son in Harrisburg, I seldom see him, he's expressing his independence - email helps.
ReplyDeleteFamily celebrations are the best - my sister is coming out for a visit soon and the fun will begin!
What a small world. My son had worked at the Harrisburg Hospital and now he's at York Memorial Hospital. Lancaster's not that big, we should meet!
DeleteI'm celebrating finishing my edits and discovering exactly how to revise a manuscript. It's good to know what to work on next (I was in limbo for a few days and watching way too much Burn Notice!).
ReplyDeleteGreat, Mshatch, finishing edits and revising is a good thing!! Good luck.
DeleteSpending time with family is the best. Put up a picture :)
ReplyDeleteI'll look for one, Nana.
DeleteAlways nice to see family--I'm glad your son was able to visit. Have a good weekend! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lara for commenting. Have a great weekend too.
DeleteAw happy you got family time! :)
ReplyDeleteFamily getting together is so special after a long separation. Enjoy your time!!!
