Today is my first blog to Celebrate the Small Things. To learn more about this blog celebration click on the link.
Well let me get started. If you've read my last post then you know I've been in writer's limbo. For the past week I've sat edgily at the computer and written a sentence here or a paragraph there. Debating daily on how to end my wip and it's been driving me crazy.
Needless to say after toiling in the gardens, and adding a little elbow grease to my much neglected housework, I let my brain take a breather.
And behold--less than an hour ago a solution bumped around in my head. Hurrah!!!
Now to compose the ending before it flits away from my overtaxed brain, and then I'll be ecstatic!
So this Friday I'm celebrating a small accomplishment with a long way to go.
Hey! I'm glad you found your WIP ending muse!
ReplyDeleteThat was supposed to say Yay! not Hey... oh brother...
DeleteYAY! Thanks Dani!
DeleteIsn't that the best feeling when the ending or solution to a tough scene comes after struggling with it?
ReplyDeleteI think we always have it somewhere in our brain but it gets hidden underneath all the other stuff and it just takes some time to find it's way through the clutter to where we can see it. Doing something else for a day or two always work for me too. Good luck
You're absolutely right. Too much clutter in my head! Thanks for dropping by, Debbie.
DeleteSometimes the best thing to do is to do nothing. Then: onwards!
ReplyDeleteYes, had to get away from the computer for a while.
DeleteGood for you. It's my first post to Celebrate the Small Things as well.
ReplyDeletePatricia, Sugar & Spice & All Things ? Nice
I think I'll like this Friday blog, won't you?
DeleteCongrats on breaking the writer's block! I know, it can be a serious pain. I find the same thing...riding on my husband's motorcycle or riding the jet ski always seems to do the trick for me! :)
ReplyDeleteMy daughter had a motorcycle, but I really don't want to ride with her, at least not until she's more experienced. It definitely would clear the head. Thanks for visiting my blog, Jen.
DeleteCongratulations. That is something great to celebrate.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Nana!
DeleteOooh, congrats on getting that flash of inspiration for your ending! I need to get a flash of inspiration for my whole WIP! lol
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lexa. I hope you get a flash of inspiration as well.
DeleteWoohoo! Funny how taking our mind off things can set us on the path that makes it better again. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteYes, I believe our brains need a little distraction once in a while. Thanks, M.J.
DeleteIsn't that the way it is when we try and force things to go our way! Congrats for getting to an ending that may bring you joy and satisfaction. Writer’s Mark
