Let’s rock the neurotic writing world!
Our Twitter handle is @TheIWSG and hashtag is #IWSG.
Every month, we announce a question that members can answer in their IWSG post. These questions may prompt you to share advice, insight, a personal experience or story. Include your answer to the question in your IWSG post or let it inspire your post if you are struggling with something to say.
Alex's awesome co-hosts are Nancy Gideon, Jennifer Lane, Jacqui Murray, and Natalie Aguirre!
October 2 question - Ghost stories fit right in during this month. What's your favorite classic ghostly tale? Tell us about it and why it sends chills up your spine.
I Love this time of year. The changing, colorful leaves, the crisp air, and the crushed apples and fry cakes wafting from our local cider mill.
I like thrillers, scary movies like The Others with Nicole Kidman or the Insidious franchise movies which is somewhat based on factual events. Movies that make the hair on my arms spike and make me jump in my seat when something jumps out. I can definitely do without tons of bloody, gory scenes. It's a yearly tradition to watch Hocus Pocus.
The most subtle ghost stories are the ones without bloody scenes, I think. Think of 'The Canterville Ghost' by Oscar Wilde, which was actually funny.
ReplyDeleteOooo.. I like the Canterville Ghost too!
DeleteI like this time of year and Hocus Pocus too. I'm not a fan of ghost stories, at least not creepy ones.
ReplyDeleteYou can keep your scary stuff. LOL
ReplyDeleteIm sorry to say that I'm having quite a time commenting. Blogger won't allow me to sign in, AGAIN!. I've had this issue for a while. I can't seem to figure out the problem.
ReplyDeleteI just started watching Scream, actually! A little out of my comfort zone, but I suppose I was influenced by the mood of the month.
ReplyDeleteYour pictures are amazing! I can't believe Halloween is so close.
ReplyDeleteYou've named some of my favorites! Turning on all the lights in the house so you're not in the dark when going to the bathroom is the sure sign of a proper scary book!!
ReplyDeleteGood, someone else who likes horror!
ReplyDeleteSubtle ones are often best. My choice is a subtle one. And on Halloween, we always watch The Crow.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the scary pictures. They helped get me into thehe true spirit of the Halloween season!

Ghost stories with an interesting story line are my preference. My all-time fav "ghost stories" are the chicken skin tales of marching spirits and ghostly appearances in Hawaii.
ReplyDeleteLovely pictures, especially the one with the girl over the bed.
