Join Alex J. Cavanaugh and a multitude of writer's in this monthly hop to help support one another!
Purpose: To share and encourage. Writers can express doubts and concerns without fear of appearing foolish or weak. Those who have been through the fire can offer assistance and guidance. It’s a safe haven for insecure writers of all kinds!
Alex's awesome co-hosts are Raimey Gallant, Natalie Aguirre, CV Grehan, and Michelle Wallace!
First, I must apologize. I did visit quite a few blogs last month. However, for some insane reason I couldn't sign in to my blogger account. The only comment I was able to make was on Alex's blog. Strange. And all others I couldn't comment, even on my own blog. I'm still having problems, but I downloaded a new browser and hoping it'll work.
Now, Blogger has removed all Google+ peeps. I'm so computer illiterate. I don't have a clue how to proceed.... What and where do I acquire a Template Supplier?
The question for this month is: Besides writing what other creative outlets do you have?
Over the years, I've sewn some of my kids clothes. I even drove myself bonkers making the bridesmaid dresses for my sister's wedding.
Sorry, a picture of a picture turned out fuzzy. The purple dress that my daughter and I are wearing, and 10 other bridesmaid, I sewed.
I crochet to while a way winter doldrums. (I rarely have doldrum days anymore) Been working on this for the past couple of winters. LOL.
I enjoy hand quilting. Making wallhangings, and full to queen sized quilts for beds has been a passion.
This is my fall quilt.
While I have enjoyed these creative outlets. Although, lately, my time is dwindling. And writing has become center stage.
Do you have other creative outlets?
I hope I can blog hop and comment this month!
Ooh, impressive! These all look so wonderful. I used to do some sewing, too, but it's been ages since I last have. Can relate too well to that dwindling time!
ReplyDeleteAnd sorry to hear about all the issues you've had with Blogger lately. Hopefully it'll no longer be a headache for you this month!
Thank you, Heather. Blogger is driving me crazy.
DeleteSorry you were locked out. Google+ going down is messing with a lot of people.
ReplyDeleteYou are quite talented!
Thanks, Alex.
DeleteYou are super talented. Sewing and crocheting are lost arts. I wish they still taught sewing in school. I mean, even being able to mend a button comes in handy. Sorry about your Blogger problems. It seems so much is changing even these older formats are having trouble keeping up.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sherri
DeleteI'm impressed by your sewing and quilting skills. You really are talented. Good luck figuring out your blogger glitches.
ReplyDeleteThanks Natalie.
DeleteOh wow! I especially love that beautiful quilt.
ReplyDeleteThanks Christine
Delete12 dresses sewn under a deadline. And they had to fit. I'm impressed!
ReplyDeleteFirst and last time I did that. LOL.
DeleteYour sewing talents are amazing. I enjoy quilting, but it's fallen by the wayside in favor of writing. Some day . . .
ReplyDeleteQuilting is something I would love to try. My Gran made so many and it was her legacy when she left us. Everyone had a quilt. I still love mine. :-)
ReplyDeleteAnna from elements of emaginette
That's what I'm doing for my 5 kids. I have one left to make.
DeleteI never got into sewing. Sometimes I'll have something that requires a bit of it and it drives me nuts. LOL I guess that's the one creative thing I don't enjoy.
ReplyDeleteI don't sew as much as I used to.
DeleteAll of those creations are beautiful. You are so talented.
ReplyDeleteYou have amazing talent. My writing takes away from my other creative outlets. It seems as I get older, I get less done with the hours I have.
ReplyDeleteMe too.
DeleteWow! Impressive you sewed bridesmaid dresses! Great looking works. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks.
DeleteI wish I could sew! And crochet, and knit! Definitely gonna give it a go when I retire in a few years. Can’t wait.
ReplyDeleteI don't do any needlework aside from hemming my pants, and it is an absolute necessity, as I'm short. I wish I could sew dresses or quilt, but alas.
ReplyDeleteAs for your commenting problem - it is all Google+ fault. They discontinued, and created troubles for so many people.
Your sewing, crochet, and quilt work are lovely! I wish I had advice about Google. They're just making life difficult, it seems.
ReplyDeleteWow, you are talented. I wish I knew how to use a sewing machine and could do simple things like hemming pants and so on. Love the quilt.
ReplyDeleteSewing is a great creative outlet. As for commenting: I used to use my Google+ ID but now it uses my Google ID, so I don't think you'll need a new template for comments :-)
