Last weekend turned out to be heart wrenching. I had to say goodbye to Kitty. (her real name) She was God's gift to us for 20 years. She loved to snuggle and lay over my wrist while writing or next to me on the chair. After having that little fur ball around for 20 years, I miss her terribly. There's a small void in the house. And now we're dealing with an old dog that can barely walk. I'm afraid we might lose another love soon.

I'm sorry to hear about your loss. These things are never easy. Years ago I had a cat who lived to be eighteen, and I had a dog that was around for about twelve years. Both losses were awful.
ReplyDeleteAre pets become our babies in a way.
DeleteSo sorry to hear about your beloved Kitty. I know how hard it can be and it will take a little time to get over it. I lost my 17 year old cat a couple of years ago and I still sometimes expect to see her curled up on the sofa. Hugs to you.
ReplyDeleteExactly!!!
DeleteAwww. It's heartbreaking when we lose pets. As I was reading your blog, my own dog came up to say good morning and I stopped and petted her for a long time. She's 7...but I've been through losing a dog before and I know what's coming someday. My only other dog died fairly young (10 years old) so I haven't been through the "old age" thing with a pet. They bring so much happiness to our lives while they're here--I just wish they stayed with us for many more years. Of course, if that happened, we wouldn't get to love so many different pets.
ReplyDeleteWe've had a few pet losses over the years and it never gets any easier.
DeleteIt always hurts to lose a precious animal, especially with the risk of another leaving you soon. Hope you get a little something to better help you through it.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteI'm sorry about Kitty. Pets become family members which is why it hurts so much when they're gone.
ReplyDeleteYes they do.
DeleteSorry about your sad week. Loving and loosing is hard.
ReplyDeleteYes. Thank you Nana.
DeleteSo sorry to hear about the loss of Kitty. Losing pets is always hard. Thinking of you.
ReplyDeleteHope your Facebook party goes well!
Thank you.
DeleteIt's always so hard to lose a furbaby. You have my sympathies.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteSo sorry, Cathrina. I know how hard it is to lose a pet. They're definitely part of the family. I hope the happy memories with kitty cheer you up a little.
ReplyDeleteThank you Deanie
DeleteOh, how sad. I've lost so many furbabies over the years I had to stop getting them. I'm so sorry to hear Kitty is gone and I hope your dog feels better or is at least comfortable in his remaining years. Fabulous giveaway you have going on there!
ReplyDeletethank you Lexa.
DeleteSo sorry to hear about Kitty. She sounds like she was a wonderful friend and no doubt enjoyed her time with you too.
ReplyDeleteAw, I'm so sorry. It's always so painful to lose a beloved pet like that... :(
