Alex's awesome co-hosts are Jemi Fraser,
I am super stoked because finally, after months and months, of barely adding a paragraph to my WIP, I started writing again.
I can honesty say, my agent informed me that the YA fantasy market is overwhelmed, and I should consider writing something else. Possibly, it might have been her dire advice that stopped my brain from continuing on. Because I was 30k into my YA/Fantasy, and then I had thoughts of throwing it all away.
What happened is a good lesson for a writer. Especially for me. Write what makes you happy. Write the genre that sets you on fire.
Now, I am having so much fun with this storyline. I even find a smile on my face during some of the scenes.
Be true to yourself, and the rest will fall into place.
That's great that you are writing and enjoying it again. I've been writing more too and am trying to write most days in November for NaNo.
ReplyDeleteThat's great Natalie!
DeleteWrite it anyway! My market was supposed to be at a low ebb when I first was published but my books found success anyway.
ReplyDeleteI am, Thanks Alex.
DeleteTotally agree! If you don't love your work, it's not likely anyone else will!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you're 'unstuck' and enjoying the story!!
Me too!
DeleteI love the fact that as writers we have the ability to makes our characters into people.

Happy writing!
Cool, isn't it.
DeleteYeah, I've never been one to write for market demands. I'm glad you're pursuing your passions and I'm glad it's igniting a flame within you.
ReplyDeleteThanks Loni!
DeleteMe too!
ReplyDeleteThe YA fantasy market might be overwhelmed, but I love it. So I write in it.
ReplyDeleteWrite what you love. So glad you're writing again. I'm still in a dry space. I hope I can echo your words next month.
ReplyDeleteGo with your gut or writing muse or whatever. I would like to start writing again, but I'm stuck doing schoolwork all the time with my two high schoolers. Bummer. I guess I'll carve out some writing time when I'm ready.
